Wedding Tips from Anne Hathaway!

Earlier this month, Anne Hathaway celebrated her engagement to Adam Schulman in New York City with friends and family!

There were no flashy celebrity appearances or paparazzi; the New York native threw her party in a unique way, at the Housing Works Bookstore Café in SoHo with 125 of her closest guests!

Every aspect of the night encompassed the classic elegance of Anne’s style, as we suspect her wedding will!

For color, she incorporated popping pinks and purples with her simple but gorgeous floral décor by Rebecca Shepherd!

Her menu consisted of truffle mac n’ cheese with vegan burgers and cupcakes catered by the venue, showing even an award winning (vegetarian) star desires to go back to her comforts when it comes to her wedding – who needs caviar, anyway?

It looks like the wedding planning is moving right along, and the bride-to-be was apparently beaming at this party, so we can’t wait until the big day comes!

Take a few tips from Anne and don’t be afraid to be true to yourself, even if your style might surprise people! On your special day and all of the amazing events leading up to it, it’s important to love every detail!

Madame Paulette's Couture Miracles!

Every Celebrity has a routine they go through to prep for a big award show like the Grammys or the Oscars – their dress, makeup, hair, smile, every aspect about their look has to be beyond perfect… But on many of their pre-red-carpet checklists is a very important name: Madame Paulette.

On 2nd Avenue between 65th and 66th streets is a spot frequented by stars like Angelina Jolie, Eva Longoria, Melania Trump, Vera Wang, Gucci, Fendi (and countless others), and it’s on a completely different level from your every day garment cleaning service!

Madame Paulette has dealt with vintage articles by Coco Chanel made as far back as the 1930′s and 18th Century garments for show in museums! The man behind making the most luxurious of laundry piles illuminate is John Mahdessian, the third generation owner of Madame Paulette. For years, his family has specialized in the finest form of cleaning and restoration.

So brides of New York, gown crises are bound to happen every now and then, but have no fear! Madame Paulette has you covered for any emergency red wine or spaghetti sauce situation you might encounter. They even have a pick up and drop off service if you’re in the NY/Metro area! Madame Paulette is a great name to pass on to your bridesmaids, too! A miracle worker when it comes to delicate couture and vintage clothing, they offer expertise in European tailoring, dry cleaning, wet cleaning, invisible reweaving, whitening and more!

Gossip Girl's Royal Anticipation

New York City’s favorite socialites have been spotted filming around the Upper East Side in Vera dresses, and the anticipation for Gossip Girl’s royal wedding is building! The episode isn’t airing until January 30th, but leaked photos of Leighton Meester have taken the talk off of Blair’s undisputed love for Chuck Bass for just a minute. We’re focused on the fashionista’s gorgeous Vera Wang gown from her 2011 Collection!

While we could stare at B all day, we can’t forget about her best friend, Serena van der Woodsen who looks absolutely stunning in her dress, also by Vera, in a soft pink. The other bridesmaids are also looking like royalty in light pink short dresses from White by Vera Wang.

We’re so excited to see how Blair Waldorf’s lace covered princess gown flows as she walks down the aisle – or runs out of the Cathedral as the gossip suggests!

Guess the Dress: Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake have recently been speculated to be engaged. While this news is very exciting, it’s also depressing to know that Justin Timberlake is off the market. The low-key romance from Biel & Timberlake will likely mean a low-key engagement and wedding. That doesn’t mean we won’t be guessing what she will be wearing to her wedding day!

Her Golden Globes look for this year was possibly a hint of what her gown might look like. A vintage inspired Elie Saab gown with ivory lace.

Back in 2009, Jessica wore an ivory Prada gown on the red carpet at the Oscars!

Britney's Southern Comfort Wedding

Celebrity buzz is all over Britney Spears’ engagement to Jason Trawick, and rumor has it, her wedding plans include nothing more than to be with close friends and family for a low-key, Southern style wedding, home – cooking and all!

We have no idea the location yet, but we can suspect that Britney will find that quiet, country feeling near her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana.

A big trend this year is to use local vendors, wherever the location may be. Local caterers use fresh goods from the town you’re in so that guests from everywhere can enjoy the tastiest foods in the area – and there’s nothing more comforting than traditional Louisiana home-style cooking!

We have a couple of recommendations for Britney (and YOU!) if you’re also loving the idea of comfort food for your wedding:

Anyone who calls Louisiana home knows that comfort food means Cajun food. Britney Spears might not be digging into a bowl of crawfish in her couture wedding dress, but her guests can! Antoine’s in New Orleans has been the best of the best for over 150 years.

If Britney’s looking for a hometown Celebrity, Chef John Betz is her guy. Born in Louisiana, he mixes what he learned cooking in Europe with his traditional southern roots. His New Orleans restaurant, August, might be the perfect mix of elegance and down home flavor for an upscale wedding in the country.

No matter what Britney and Jason choose to do for their wedding, we hope their special day is filled with family, friends, and great flavors!
