You have been chosen to take the title and now are being trusted with the planning. At The Wedding Salon, we understand how stressful it can be to put together the perfect Bridal Shower. To help make the process a little easier, we’ve compiled some tips on the hottest DIY (Do-It-Yourself) projects that will not only look great and let you be creative, but will also save you some money, honey!
Our Wedding Salon DIY Superstar (Nicole) is in 2 weddings this year. The brides, who are two of her best friends, are getting married one month apart from each other, have the same group of close friends and even share the same name (Rachel)! She needed to do something easy, beautiful and unique on the tables at each Bridal Shower and needed some ideas – STAT.
Idea for Rachel #1 was to do something elegant and simple that really reflected her friends wedding colors and personality.  Creating floral centerpieces can be very expensive, so she decided to use champagne glasses and candles. She went to IKEA where she was able to get packages of 6 champagne glasses for only $5.00!
If you want to go a step further check out the picture I found on Something Green’s Blog. They put flowers inside the glasses to add more color.
For Rachel #2, Nicole wanted to reflect a Manhattan Champagne Picnic in the Park. Making the place card holders out of Wine Corks seemed like a fun and quirky option.  She got a great deal on bulk corks at www.CorkeyCreations.com.  She made a slit in each cork and then bought perforated, business-sized card stock paper sheets. Nicole typed up the names, added a cute boarder and then printed them out. After they were printed she just inserted the labeled card into the cork. Below is a picture from Corkey Creation’s website. Here is another great example of what you can do – simply write the guests’ names directly onto the cork!
Being a Maid of Honor does not have to be all work and no play. Â With DIY ideas at your fingertips, it can be totally fun! Â Â Enjoy being creative, ladies!
