The month of May has brought us an interesting and unexpected celebrity wedding trend: renewing of wedding vows.  First, it was Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon who set up their renewal ceremony like a real wedding. Mariah wore a white dress with a veil, while Nick sported a sleek white tux.

Then on Saturday, we got a double dose of celebrity wedding vow renewal.  Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott renewed their wedding vows in a sandbox (representing their barefoot-beach-wedding in Fiji four years ago) with their family and friends.

Grammy-winner Seal and supermodel/reality TV show host Heidi Klum took it to the next level and had a destination wedding vow renewal in Costa Careyes, Mexico.  Renewing their vows is an annual celebration for Seal and Heidi and they always make it fun for their friends and family.  Last year, they had a “white trash” ceremony with Heidi in cornrows, Seal with a mullet, and an Elvis Presley impersonator as the officiant. This year, Seal and Heidi did a Bride and Groom theme in which all of their family and friends were dressed as brides and grooms.  This is an important tradition to Heidi: “It’s about remembering this moment of love we gave to each other and reinforcing it.”
